The Kindness Cards
In 2020, when the news was all loss and the world felt very far apart, I wanted to put a little more kindness into it.
What began as a small giveaway from my own studio grew into more than 500,000 Kindness Cards, sent out free of charge to people who needed a reminder that someone was thinking of them.
Years later, they are still out there doing their quiet work. Left on a shelf for a stranger. Tucked onto a nurse's station. Handed to a neighbor on a hard day.
A little kindness, out in the world
Along the way, the Kindness Cards found their way further than I ever expected. They were featured by Apartment Therapy, ABC7 Chicago, and Authority Magazine, recognized by the Anthem Awards, and brought to patients and staff through a collaboration with Columbia University Medical Center.
What people do with them
A card left on a doorstep for a neighbor after a hard diagnosis, and it meant enough that the family ordered more for a cancer center. A stack kept at an ICU nurses' station. A handful left in public places for whoever needs to find them. That is the whole idea, and it has never stopped.
The next chapter
The Kindness Cards have always been something I gave away. Now, for the first time, they are coming to retail, so shops can share them too.
